In appealing for assistance on behalf of this Fund, the committee are confident that the response of the generoushearted people of New Zealand will be unstinted and-' worthy of a prosperous community bound by ties of deepftud enduring all'ection to the Mother Land. The needs of the starving people of Great Britain andBelgium will be severe indeed during the coming winter and in no time in the history of our Empire has there a worthier claim for assistance. Any help given will b«? given in a noble cause, and will be well repaid by ths knowledge that in some small degree a d\ity we owe to the Mother Land has been fulfill It is intended to forward a shipment of Food, Clothins, Blankets, etc., for distribution through the agency of the "Prince of Wales' Fund," with the co-operation of the ' New Zealand High Commissioner in London.
