BELGIAN RELIEF FUND.

PR A [3EWORT LIY PKOMPITUTDE. "HUMPTY-DUMPTY" COMPANY WILL ASSIST. Upon reading yesterday morning's a'ppcal for assistance for the Belgians.. -Mr W. A. Low, the well-known theatrical! manager, who is visiting New Plymouth to make arrangsments for the appealance of the "Humpty-Dumpty" Com]iany, telegraphed to- Mr G. 'Stevenson, the'manager, suggesting that the members of the company should repeat their highly successful street performance in aid of the local fund for the relief of the suffering ' Belgians. Tho reply was just what he expected, that every member of the company was ready and anxious to assist.

The company has given these outdoor performances with great success, in tho principal centres of population, raising considerable sums for this deserving fund. The proceedings include a motorcar procession, the members of the company appearing lavishly attired in costumes representative of the allied nations. There will bo a series of highclass musical •performances, including the singing of the latest patriotic songs, an amusing sale of souvenirs, and collections will be taken up by the "IlumptyDumpty" ladies. The. whole performance, according to the manner of its reception in the cities, is one that should crowd the streets next Wednesday afternoon.

Mr Low takes 110 credit to himself or the members of the company for what is really a most. praiseworthy effort. Hie lot of actors, actresses and musician® who are filling the heavy itinerary of tin ■•Humpty-Dtimpty" company is not all a bed of roses, but entails much hard vork, and their willing sacrifice of theitf time is most, commendable.. It is to be Sloped that, their efforts will be crowned with success.

A meeting will probably he held this morning to form a citizens' committee to make the necessary arrangements for the co-operation of the townspeople.
