In appealing for assistance on behalf of this Fund, the committee are confident that the response of the generoushearted people of Mew Zealand will be unstinted and l worthy of a prosperous community bound by ties of deep and enduring affection to the Mother Land. The needs of the starving people of Gfeat Britain and' Belgium will be severe indeed, during the coming wintetf, and in no time in the history of our Empire has there beesa worthier claim for assistance. Any help given will be given in a noble cause, and will be well repaid by the knowledge that in some small degree a duty we owe tothe Mother Land has been fulfill It is intended to forward a shipment of Food, Clothing, Blankets, etc., for distribution through the agency.of the "Prince of "Wales' Fumy' with the co-operation of the New Zealand High Commissi oner in London.
