About .CO was taken af .loor and the principal prize-takers were: Pot plants, Mesdames Brennan I -and Could, the former taking the points prize in this section; cut flowers, Mes(lames Walker, Moore, Thorpe, Hodgson. Moitri and Mr Burgess, the firstnamed.- securing the points prize and special for sweet peas; the judge remarked that the sweet peas were, especially good; decorative classes, .Miss Pcttigrcw, Mcsiiamos Thorpe, Walker, and Greig divided the prizes, Mrs. W. Watson secured the most prizes in the cooking classes, Mcsdamos Phillips and (iuy were also prominent in securing pr'zes. Mcsdamos A. 11. Moore, Jeffries, and lirennan were the principal prizetakers in the preserves. Mr. C. .McGregor won all the first prizes for honey. Mi* S. Cox won the points prize in th c vegetable classes with Air Diickenden a close second. In fruit Mr W. Duckenden was an easy first for the points prize. Messrs Burgess and Cox also secured first prizes. The sheepguessing competition was won by Mr T. King and the peas in the bottle by Miss- Looney. The attendance in the evening was good and the president of the society, -Mr. IW. lirennan, thanked the judges and all who assisted in making the show a success. The secretaries. Rev. O. M. Stent and Mr E. Marshall, are to be congratulated on Unsuccessful issue of the show.

AUROA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A party of Manaia bowlers visited Auroa on Wednesday last, when three rinks were formed, each Manaia skip taking one of the Auroa novices to act p-, skip for the opposing side, and at the same time instructing them as to the best v.av to play their bowls, .liidgine: by l!.e scores put up by the Auroa bovs, t'r.c New Plymouth tournament will beii'd-t to the extent of one or two more nominations next year.
