OTACIO v. SOUTHLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invcreargill, Last Night. T!t(. annual inter-provincial cricket m.-.tch between Southland and Otago was commenced at Rugby Bark this afternoon in dull weather, and on a slow wicket. The start was delayed until .'1.30 owing to tile rain of the early morning, which had affected the wicket. Three of Southland's leading batsmen. in James Hamilton, Hannorton, and Driacoll, were unable to play. Southland won the toss, and sent Otago to the wickets. The visitors at the drawing of stumps had lost five wickers for 148 runs. .
