SWIMMING.
THE NAPIER CARNIVAL. liy Telegraph— Per Press Association. Napier, Last; Night, To-day was an olf-day in connection with the New Zealand swimming championships, but a surf reel competition for the Nelson Shield was held by the Royal Life-Saving Society. The only teams to compete were Hawke's Bay and Canterbury, the former winning by 81 points to 78. The swimming carnival will be continued to-morrow.
