DIPLOMAT'S COMPLIMENTS. JAPAN'S FRIENDLY RELATIONS. POLITE REMARKS ABOUT JAPAN. London, February 12. Speaking at a dinner in Washington in honour of Admiral Dewey, the Japanese representative at the Panama Exhibition said that Japan was looking to America for a solution of all the troubles. The remark was interpreted as applying to the European war. Mr Bryai, replying, said that the I faith of the United States in Japan's spirit of peace was not shaken, and that it was her desire and honest purpose to live with the United States as a friendly neighbour was never questioned.
