EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. An exceptionally pleasing series of pictures were presented at the Empire Theatre on Saturday evening to an appneialive audience. The new programme opened with the "Gaumont Graphic,"' which contained fresh views from the front. One of W. W. Jacob's most delightful comedies, "Beauty and the Barge." was presented. With Cvril Maude ,vi Captain Barley, th.' old salt who was so susceptible to female beauty that he had to pay his attentions to every girl lie met. A powerful Ei'«"son drama entitled, "Across the Burning Trestle," A very pretty love story was told in the film, entitled, "The Toy Shop." Hie inimitable John Buuny made an appear, e.nee in the film "Setting the Style," in which Bunny and his equally portly spouse visit the horse show, in New York. "Our Mutual Girl," was a. delightful story. "A Day'on a Boy Seoul Farm in Sussex" showed some topical events, while e. screaming comedy, i:i continuation of the "Bill" series showed "Bill" taking a lady to lunch. The programme will be repeated this evning. To-morrow a complete change if. announced, the star is "The Adventures of Miss Tomboy." a Yitagraph Drama with Lilian Walker, John Bunny and "Vallie Van in the principal roles.
