NORMAXBY, (From our own Correspondent.) At a meeting of the Britain and Belgian Relief Fund committee it was stated that £7O had been realised lor stock donated by the fanners towards the fund. In addition, several farmers had given large cash contributions, bringing the amount in t:and to £l(is os.

The Town Board intend carrying out several improvements to the roads, as far as their limited income will permit, and they have let a contract to Messrs Reardon Bros, for metalling 2lio yards in Oliangi road and Egmont street. The Board has evidently adopted the suggestion made to remove the loose stones from the main street, and the question of carrying out some repairs to the roads in the township will be considered at the Board meeting to I/- held on Monday next. The Horticultural Society's show to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, March 3rd and 4th, promises to eclipse any previous efforts. The arrangements are in the hands of a energetic secretary, assisted bv a good working committee. In the list of judges published by your paper it was stated that Mesdames J. Winks and J. W. Butcher had been asked to judge the sewing classes The latter name should have been .Mrs. J. W. Butler.

A wedding took place in tlie Presbyterian Church, Eltham, on Wednesday, when Mr. Ernest Harold Peek, of Whakamara, was united in holy wedlock to Miss Margaret Sinillie, youngest daughter of Mr. John Smillie, F.lthanu The Rev. J. W. Butler was the officiating clergyman.
