A DOUBLE TRAITOi!. MARITZ EXECUTED BY GERMANS. Capetown, February 10. There is an unconfirmed report that the Germans have executed Maritz, alleging treachery. It is stated that Maritz left the Loyalist camp, promising to zring the Germa n artillery. It is believed that the Germans discovered his treachery during the attack on Kaksmas, when they narrowly escaped disaster.
The trial of Wessels is proceeding. The Basuto chief Lethaniwopels gave evidence that Wessels, in a letter, pro raised him independence if he was quiet or aided the rebels. London, February 10. The Press Bureau states that the leader in Nvassaland rising has be-n killed.
