. COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS. .by Telegraph.—Per Press Association Dunedin, Last Night. Ihe conference of the United Commercial Travellers' Association of New, Zealand was held to-day, Mr D. Mcpherson presiding. The roll stood as follows: Financial members: Auckland, 'S64; Wellington. 337; Cliristchurch, '24Sj Dunedin. 301; total, 1310. It was decided that an influential deputation wait on the proper authorities, with a view to securing a concession in railway faros for bona fide travellers. The following officers were elected: President, Mr S. Orchard: treasurer, J. F. Turnbull; auditor, 11. Bicknell; general secretary,, H. B. Gould. The next conference will be held in Cliristchurch.
DANNKVIRKE A. AND P. SHOW. Dannevirke, Last Night. The Pannevirke district A. nnd P. show opened to-day in fine weather. The entries were not so representative as usual, in consequence of drought, fires, and other seasonable causes Championships were awarded as follows:

THE MAT!TON SHOW. I Marton, Last Night. Tile third annual show of the Marton A. and I'. Association was a record one. Entries were very much larger in all classes than t'ne previous year's. About iVOOO people were present. llassall'a Micky Free won the champion hafik, beat 'jinced back, 10-stone back. The. ladies' jumping, and second open hunters' jump* ing were won by T. Bryce's Twilight. Entries in the horse events were very large, and created much interest. H. * Cr. Lancaster was the principal winner in Jersey and Crossbred dairy cattle; W. Gibson and A. G. Simpson in Shorthorna, W. J. Birch in Devona. G. L. Marshall and S. Cnombe in Lincolns, and C. H. i Handley in fat sheep.
THE CATHOLIC FEDERATION. Invercargill, Last Night. The second annual gathering of the Catholic. Federation was held at Riverton yesterday, when between five and six thousand people from all parts of tho province attended. Speeches were given hy the clergy and Messrs. D. L. Poppellwell (Mayor of Gore), Jno. Shipherd and G. Girling Butcher, secretary and organiser.
