FIRING A REVOLVER.
OUTCOME OP PASSING REMARKS. By Telegraph --Per Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. .Tames Salo, night-watchman at the Sash and Door Factory, was to-day committed for trial for allegedly firing a revolver at Thomas Bliukhorn, a drover. From the evidence, it appeared that Blinkhorn and three other drovers, who had been drinking, but were not drunk, passed Salo about C p.m. on January 28. Blinkhorn said he called Salo "an old sausage," and asked how he was getting on whereupon accused fired a revolver at him. Accused's story was that Blinkhorn called him a German, embellished with offensive adjectives, and threatened him with physical violence. In sclf-de-fenco he fired the revolver into the ground to frighten his assailant. Salo is said to be a Russian Finn, and is an elderly and inoffensive man.
