NEAR THE PIAICO EWER. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. 'Thames, Yesterday. The Italian ship Eurasia, Captain AHvaria, bound from Belfast for Auckland and Monte Video, tonnage 1742 tons, went ashore on the mud flat opposite the Thames, westward of the Piako River, at ten o'clock last night. The. cause of the mishap was that the compass was out of order. No danger or loss is likely, as the ship is in soft mud. She. may be detained some day*. The assistance of a tug is being sought. The vessel left Auckland yesterday iraorning.
