GERMAN SUBMARINES IN NORWEGIAN WATERS. London, February 2. The Copenhagen correspondent of the Paris Temps reports from a trustworthy source that German submarines are cruising in Norwegian waters, contrary to international law. It is believed they have depots on some uninhabited islands off the coast. A WARNING AND AN EXCUSE. SUBMARINE MENACE IN THE CHANNEL. WATERS UNSAFE FOR TRADERS ,'AND TRANSPORTS. Received 3, 9.16 p.m. Amsterdam, February 3. The German Admiralty states: "The British are about to ship troops and material to France. We shall use all military means to prevent this, and we warn peaceful shipping against approaching the north-west, coast of France owing to the danger of being mistaken for transports. Ships trading to the North Sea ports are advised to proceed round Scotland." GERMAN GUNBOAT SUNK. BY RUSSIAN SUBMARINES. Received 3, 11 p.m. Petrograd, February 3. A flotilla of Russian submarines sank a German gunboat near the scene of the Gazello affair. ANOTHER OUTRAGE. ATTEMPT TO TORPEDO A HOSPITAL SHIP. Received 3, 9.15 p.m. Paris, February 3. Official: A German submarine fired a torpedo at the British hospital ship iAsturias off Havre, but missed. TOE ATTACK UNJUSTIFIABLE. Received 4, 12.15 a.m. London, February 3. The Asturias was painted white, with large red crosses on the sides and funnels. There was not the slightest excuse for the outrage. NAVAL HERO AT PLYMOUTH. Received 3, 10.30 p.m. London, February 3. Admiral Sturdec, aboard the P. and O. liner India, has reached Plymouth. FRENCH PROTEST WELCOMED AN EYE-OPENER TO NEUTRAL i NATIONS. Times and Sydney Sun Services.) Agagncur: "We welcome your opportune protest against the violation of the law of nations by the German navy sinking merchant ships deliberately and indiscriminately, without regard to whether their cargo is contraband or otherwise. Neutral nations must now be convinced of the reckless and inhuman policy of Germany against existing international conventions." THE NAIRNSHIRE. The Nairnshire, which was reported to be on fire at Havre, left .Wellington V September 18 for Boston and New I York via Sydney, October 10. She arrived in London on December 18.
