BOLIMOW AVENGED. COLOSSAL GERMAN CASUALTIES. Petrograd, February 2. A enmmuni<]iic states that a vigorous counter-attack recaptured all the trenches at Bolimow, The German casualties were colossal. The Germans in the Pipno-Dobrzin fight during the past week lost GOOD killed and many wounded. The Russians in three days on the Wyslok-Nijniania front captured 78 officers and 4005 men, four guns, and ten mitrailleuses. GERMAN SYSTEM FAILS. TENS OF THOUSANDS LOST. SUBSTITUTED SCHEME DISASTROUS. SIX THOUSAND ItfLLED. Received 4, 12.50 a.m. London, February 3. The Morning Post's Petrograd correspondent states that the Germans on Sunday had a temporary success in the country State of Borjimoff, where they have lost tens of thousands since December 22 as the result of the system of sending ten companies to certain annihilation, with the hope that the eleventh 1 vould succeed. When the system failed, the Germans tried sapping. Early on 'Sunday morning they concentrated all their artillery between Seklaczew and Bolimow, before two miles of trenches, at Borjimoff, where GOOO Germans wer* killed during the previous week. A hurricane of fire enabled them to rush the trenches. The Russians brought up additional artillery, and a series of bayonet charges ensued later. On Sunday the trenches were recaptured, practically along the whole two miles. The German losses wen appalling.
