THE PRICE OF OATMEAL. I Melbourne, January 30. The commission Is considering the manufacturers' request to increase the price of oatmeal £5 a ton. They point out that they have been informed that if the tariff here is reduced tne price of 'New Zealand oats will bo increased. BREADSTUFF PRICES. By Tele^ranh. —Per Press Association. Christchurch, January 30. The New Zealand Flour and Produce Agency Company, as agents for the manufacturers, have advanced the prices of flour and pollard by 10s per ton, making the prices £ls 10s and £Bl spectively. , | NEWTON KING'S REPORT. j On Monday 25th, at my Urenui yards 1 had a full yarding of cattle with a' good attendance of buyers. A good number of Fat eattle came forward, the quality of which, however, was not up to previous yardings, there being very few prime cows yarded. Prices on fats showed a decline on recent sales, due. of course, to the congestion in all the freezing works in the Dominion. Farmers generally will be pleased to see the works in full swing agaih. Prices obtained were as follows:—Jersey 18-' month heifers £2 IDs, Shorthorn 20montli empty heifers £3 3s Bd to £3 10s, younger cattle £2 2s to £2 16s, 2 and 2y 3 -year steers £4 17s, 20-month steers, in good demand £3 14s to £4 2s, small cattle and rough £2 14s fid to £3 fls 6d; springing heifers, £4 7s fid to £5 Ins, yearlinc bulls £1 17s fid to £3 ss, heavy bulls £7 5s to £ll, fat cows, mostly small, £7 to £7 15s.
