TARANAKI SHOW.
Among the most attractive features of the Taranaki Metropolitan Show will be the competitions on both days. The prize money for the most popular displays of horsemanship is quite equal to that given by the largest societies in valuable cups are offered for competition. It is anticipated that the fields will be large and the competition keen in each of the classes scheduled. The turning competition is a new event on the programme, and should cause a good deal of amusement, besides drawing a large number of entries. This event gives an opportunity to polo ponies or good stock horses. The programme for the competitions is arranged to meet the convenience of competitors, and as the jumps have been remodelled in favor of huntsmen, the arrangements should meet with the 'approval of the most fastidious. Entries close definitely on FeFruary 13th. Schedules may be obtained on application to the secretary, P.O. Box 13, New Plymouth.
