MARY PICKFORD. To-night's chief attraction at the Empire Theatre will be what should prove a very welcome reappearance 011 tlie screen of tlie famous film actress Mary Pick ford, in her most recent dramatic success, "Tess of the Storm Country." It is stated to he the most original drama that this gifted young actress has yet appeared in, and patrons wil lexpcct to see a work of quite exceptional merit. The Press of England, 'America, and Australia have, spoken in favor of "Tess of the Storm Country" with no uncertain sound, and it is universally accorded pride of place as the finest production yet put otu hy the Famous Players Company. The scene of tlie story is laid in the Storm Country on the shores of Cayuga Lake, where dwell tlie poor and ignorant ! fisher-folk known as "squatters." The heroine, Tess, is the daughter of a poacher ,and the story pictures the sacrifice she makes for love and faith and the great suffering she endures .before receiving her just reward. The play is said to lie full of exciting incidents, and holds the attention of onlookers from start to finish.
