ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

MUTILATED AT RAILWAY CROSSING. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Christchurch, January 29. The body of a man, terribly mutilated, was found on the Waltham railr way crossing this morning. The body was cut in half, the legs broken, and the hands severed. The body has been identified as that of William Challior, a canvasser, of Lower Riccaiton. He left home at 2.30 this morning, and, it is presumed, was run over by a shunting engine. He left a letter, announcing his intention of committing suicide. .

KILLED BY MOTOR LORRY.

Wanganui, January 29. The inquest on William Jas. MeK-: tyre, who was killed at Castleclifl on Sunday by being run over by a motor lorry, concluded to-day. The verdict was that he was accidentally killed. .
