FIRES.
NAPIER DWELLING DESTROYED. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. ' Napier, January 25. A ten-roomed dwelling at joraite, owned by Dudley Hill, and occupied by H. L. Mitchell, was totally destroyed by fire yesterday. The outbreak originated in a grass fire, which could not. be checked before it reached the house. The insurance on the house is £IOOO and on the furniture £3OO in the New Zealand Office. AN AUCKLAND HOUSE BURNED. Auckland, January 25. A fire at Green Lana destroyed the house occupied by J. B.' Young. It was insured in the South British Office for £450. A HOUSE GUTTED. Wellington, January 25. A house of seven rooms at Oriental Bay, owned and occupied by Joseph Fanning, was gutted by fire early this morning, and the whole of the contents practically destroyed. The house was insured in the British Dominions Office for £6OO, and the furniture and effects in the same office for £2OO. A SHOP GUTTED. Gisborne, January 25. A fire on Sunday afternoon destroyed the stationery establishment of Thomas Adams, the whole stock being lost, and tlie premises gutted. The insurances on the buildings were £SOO, and on the stock £3OOO. _____________
