TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
AUTUMN SHOW. A largely-attended meeting of the committee of the above society was held last night. Mr. J. S. Ctfanett (president) presided. A large volume of business was done in connection with the forthcoming show, to be held on February 24tli and 25th. Various committees were set up, and provision made W receiving and accommodating exhibits. The report of the organiser (Mr. C. Street,) of a very encouraging nature was received, auguring well for the show. Mr. Street reported that he had waited on numerous farmers and others throughout the district, and in every case large entries had been promised. Twelve new members were elected, and Mr. Street reported that a considerable number of people had promised to join the society before the show. The question of members' tickets was discussed, and it was decided to adhere to the rules, and issue tickets to financial members only. A circular will be issued, reminding members that subscriptions are now due. . Judging from the tone of the meeting, the prospects of the society were never brighter, and it is fully expected, owing to the energy being displayed by the members of the committee, that. this year's show will be the most successful yet held.
Exhibitors are reminded that entries close on Saturday, February 13th, and that schedules may be obtained on application to the secretary, P.O. Box 19, New Plymouth.
