NURSERYMEN'S ASSOCIATION.
DEPUTATION TO THE PREMIER. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A deputation from the Nurserymen's Conference waited on the Premier this afternoon, with Mr T. W. Kirk, of the Agricultural Department, and asked that the preparation of regulations for the registration and inspection of nurseries be pushed on with. Mr Massey replied that he would have the matter attended to at once Mr Massey also promised to introduce clauses 111 the Consolidated Orchards Bill next session making provision to set up a board of certificating and nomen-1 clature, and providing for the registration of new varieties of plants and trees and protecting the rights of growers.'l .He also promised favourable considera- j tion of a request that when plants are' destroyed by order of the Department ' the owners should be put on the same . tooting as farmers who are paid com- ! pensation for stock destroyed. j
