DISTRICT NEWS.
KAHOTU NOTES. (From our Own Correspondent). The stock inspector is at present in the district innoculating calves, about 350 being put through in Mrs Morrow's yards, and WO in the local sale-yards. Something like 10,000 calves have been innoculated between Puniho and Arawata road. Everyone seems to have kept more calves than usual this season. Milk is going down rapidly, but tests are very much better than they were at this time last year. The pay-out for the month for butter-fat, at the rate of thirteen pence, amounts to £2358. The average grade for cheese during the month was 91% points. Everyone will b e pleased to hear that the Misses Morrow, who met with a motor ear accident, are making progress towards recovery. Mrs Percy Sole, who has not been well of late, has gone to New Plymouth for medical treatment. The potato blight is rather bad in the district, and the fly is doing a lot of damage with the sweede crops.
