Turpentine, 37s Od. Chicago.—May options, 139 cents and 12a, July, 123% and 125%. Tallow.—B4B casks were offered and all were sold. Mutton, fine, 40s; medium 345; beef, 38s 9d, medium 33s 6d.
WEBSTER BROS. REPORT. Poultry.—On Saturday last, we had a good entry of all classes, prices realised were good considering this time of the year, and we have an exceptionally good demand for fat table poultry and ducks. Prices as under: Hens, young, Is 7d to Is lid; fat, Is lOd to 2s 6d; cockerels, young, Is 3d to Is 9d;; fat, 2s to 2s Sd; ducks, 2s to 2s 3d; 1 drakes, 2s lid; ducklings, forward, la , Gd to 2s; chicks, 5d to Is. The usual line of auction sundries realised satis- ! factory prices. I Fruit.—Since our last report, we have handled large quantities of Nelson, I Auckland, and Hawkes Bay fruits. I Prices have a tendency to slacken on | account of the quantities coming forj ward. Furniture.—On Wednesday, on account of the executors of the late Mrs (Matilda Duncan, we held a clearing sale of all her household furniture and effects, at her late residence in Courtenay street. Tiiere was a large attendance of the public and each line offered met with a ready sale.
