MORE ABOUT THE EMDEN. Sydney, January 21. Officers of the steamer Clan Graham, from a Mauritius port, state that while there news was received that the Emden paid a visit to the island of Diego Garcia. The islanders did not know that war had broken oui. Captain Von Mueller kept the news dark. He and the erew were royally entertained, and induced the natives by liberal pay to careen and clean the cruiser. On departing, the captain undertook to deliver the islanders' mail, which was transferred to one of the intercepted steamera. The Osterley, en route to Australia, coasted the Cocoh wreck, which is still on tlu: rocks. The Ernden is described as a twisted mass of steel, two ninepounders looming from the stern. FOREIGN SHIPS MIXED. Rome, January 20. The Italian merchant ship Varose struck an Austrian mine off Pola. The whole of the crew was lost. Amsterdam, January 20. A Dutch motor war sloop was blown up by a mine in the Scheldt. Five were killed.
