He states that the Davis Cup contests aroused tremendous enthusiasm in America, where the game is very popular. America is producing some line players. Brooks intends returning' to England after the war to defend the British championship. Tennis form in England was below the previous year's, the trouble being that the game was not encouraged in the public schools.
