To the Editor, j iSir, —With regard to your footnote to I my letter in yours of the sth inst., I have taken the trouble to communicate with the Secretary of the General Committee, and hereby enclose his official statement, with copies of circulars, which should convince you that you have lieen misled by your informant. You are at liberty-to publish not only the secretary's letters, but also the circulars, so that tin; general public may be fully provided with t'he facts of the case, —I am, etc., , T. P.
