SHORTAGE OF FLOUR.

lii view of tlic fact that there is likely to be a considerable shortage of wheat during the year, a deputation of southern llonrmillers waited on the Premier to-day to ascertain what will be the policy of the Government. The deputation suggested that the Government should import wheat and fill the requirements of millers, who would use all local supplies available. Millers were anxious to keep up ttu- supply of flour to bakers and to householders and prevent exploitation figures bing reached The deputation, which was private, was sympathetically met by ths Premier,' who later told a Post reporter that "We are not going to allow millers to sell at any price they like. There must lv> an agreement between them and tlic Government. We haven't had word from Australia about the Kaiapoi's shipments I sent another telegram on the subject last night."
