Ross. t Gentlemen riders' certificates were ' granted to E. Radford, A. E. Luihsden, and Tito. For the purpose of the election of delegates on tlie district committee, it I was decided to divide the Taranaki I district on the same basis as at last election, giving Egmont two members, Nlratl'ord two, and Opunakc one. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. j I j A meeting of the 'Taranaki Jockey | Club committee was held lit. the conclusion of the District Committee meeting. the same members being present. Train arrangements for the forthcoming autumn meeting were fully discussed. It was decided to arrange, for an excursion train from Wangaimi, with excursion tares, on the morning of tlie: first day's races, returning to Wanganui on Thursday evening, tickets being available for return up to 22nd February. , The committee will endeavour to arrange for ticket-holders travelling to stations south of Haw»;ra to return by any mail train during the currency of the ticket. The steamship companies will be approached with a view to arranging suitable services from Onchunga during nice | week.
