On Wednesday, January 13, J held ray four-weekly suit: of the uliuve produce to a lull attendance of buyers. X/ie catalogue comprised 185 bales and Ml ■sacks of wool, 21W sheepskins, 473 hides, 777 calfskins. 12 casks and 20 tins of tallow, and (lie usual sundries. Competition was very animated and extreme prices were paid for all kinds of produce olfered.
Wool.— Firm at late rates with an iccasional rise. .Most of the oll'criug wat, log-stained and showed seed. For one particularly good lot of lambs, lOd per id. was obtained.
J Sheepskins.—Advanced another '/jd i[per Hi. liest lamb skins sold up to 9U j per lb., a record lor this district. Hides.—Unprecedented demand with Id per Hi. advance, prices being the bighI osst yet obtained at my sales. I sold 131 i hides at lOd to lll'/Ld i»er lb., whilst | farmers' hides realised as high as U'/id | per lb. Owing to shortages, prices must | keep on a very high level. Calfskins.—Firm at late rates.
Tallow.—Advanced 15s per ton.
