(From Our Own Corr.-widcnt.i The seaside is numerou.'ly patronised by visitors, the weather being very suitable for waterside pleasure. At least six months ago the County Council and Town Board agreed to put down certain sections of tar material on the main road through the town, but there is no sign yet of the work being started , During the week, two deaths have occurred in our midst, both being old pioneers The late Mrs Jemima Sinclair relict of the late James Sinclair, was buried ill the Opunake cemetery on Saturday afternoon, the Rev. R. B. Tinslev performing the last sad rites, at the "raveside. Deceased came from the Shetland Isles, and arrived in New Zealand in 1874. Oroymouth, and Rcefton were "diggers camps.'' Much sympathy is felt for Mrs Bovle and Miss Bovle in the loss of a kind husband and father. It will be remembered that about three nonihs ago deceased lost his only son. who was killed when in the employ of the Kaupokonui Dairy Company, by be ; )-..' crushed by the wiieels of the cheese waggeu passing over him. However, they are better off here than' m manv others parts of the Dominion. Despite the assured fact that beef is short, this season's calves are not bringing the prices expected on account of shortage.
