The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile 'Agency Co., Ltd. report as ,1'ollows: At Pukekohe yards on Tuesday, grown steers made £8 10s to £9 ss; two to three-year-old steers, £7 to £8 ss; yearling to 18-month steers. £3 18s to £5 ,ss; good steer calves, 3Ss to £2 ss; heifers, £1 10s to £3; weancrs, 20s to 355; empty cows, £3 10s to £5 ss; heifers, £3 to £4 15s; bulls, £3 to £lO 10s. Beef was yarded to the numiber of 205 head, and sold a shade lower. Cows sold, to £10; and steers to £l2 10s; dairy cows and heifers sold under steady competition at advanced prices. Cows and heifers sold at from £5 to £8 17s «d. At Wcstfield yards on Wednesday, first, quality improved in values, prime oxen Celling to £2; others. 3lis (id to 30s fid; steers sold at from £8 lfls to £10; cows (best quality), sold at from £S to £l3; others, £5 to £7 10s; light inferior fatted cow beef was much lower. A draft of 20 steers from Mr. James (Tivon, Green Hill Estate, averaged £ls 8s; veal calves came forward in record mim'bebrs, and receded in values by 10s to 15s per head. Heavy vealers, £3 10s to £4 10s: medium weights, £2 2s to £3; lighter, £1 to 38s: smaller, 8s to 17s; small and fresh dropped, 2s upwards. Sheep were penned in extra large numbers, and sold at slightly lower rates. Best wethers sold at from £1 Is 3d to £1 4s 9d; others, 14s fid to £1 0s !M; ewos, extra heavy, 18s (3d to £1 '2s 9d; others, 15s.fid to fl; hoggets 15s fid to IDs Od. Lambs were yarded in very large numbers, and sold under steady competition at lower rates. Best sold at from 15s to Wis Cd; others 8a to 14s fld. Pigs were penned in very large numbers, and sold well. No large baconers yarded. Baconers, £2 12s to £3 ss; large porkers, '£l 12s to £2 ss; porkers, 25s to £1 10s; slips, 18s to 245; weancrs, 4s to 15s.
