SATURDAY COMPETITION. Tlic Saturday competition was resumed (in Saturday in splendid weather. United Service, Inglcwood, and .\r\v Plymouth all scored winy. Law put up 'a strong bid for victory with 03 to New Plymouth's 07, and wore unfortunate in failing by this narrow margin to obtain their first success of the season. Tikorangi, considering they were playing on their own ground, put up a weak showing against United Service, 11. Foreman (22), in the first innings, Udng the. only man to make a stand against the visitors, fnglewood obtained an easy win over Albion ai the Recreation Grounds. A. Sarten, and by fine cricket brought the scon, up to 00, when he failed to -negotiate a ball from Bain. For Fnited Service Bain (30), Stewart (18), and Colvile (IS. not out) shouldered the burden of the innings, and were the only double-figurc scorers. Service passed Tikoraiigi's score by Ifi with only five wickets down. In Tikorangi's second venture Roberts had compiled .'is by good plav. when lie was dismissed by Bain. In trior batting venture the Law men made a good attempt to overtake their opponents' total, and the last few overs were full of excitement, Elliott made a stubborn stand, his 20, except for a 2, being composed of singles. 11.
