A (.able /rum Sydney announced the death of Mr JJav, ex-inspector-General of Police. Mrs and Mrs ilamish Wilson, of Bulls, who have -been staying in New Plymouth for some time past, left for 'home on Friday. Mr Haniish Wilson is a son of Sir J. G. Wilson, the recently knighted president of the Farmers' Union.
At tlii; provincial tennis tournament held at the New Plymouth Club's courts on .Saturday aftelrnoon, Capt. C. 11. Weston, who is shortly leaving for Trentham to join the expeditionary force, was the recipient of a presentation from his fellow members of the New Plymouth Tennis Club. The presentation, which took Ihe form of a set of military brushes, was made by Dr Leatham, the club's president. Capt. Weston's response was greeted with cheers and musical honors.
