A twelve-roomed house at Anderson's •Bay, owned by Mrs .'olm Whitje, and cccupied by Mr Q. Hoodie, was destroyed by fire this afternoon. Thu fire is supposed to have started in a beJKoin up itaii'3. The house was iiisujol for £IOOO in the Standard ofl'ic" aivl the furniture for ftiPO in! tlie office. Furniture to the value of about £4OO was saved. The house was valnol at £1460, and the furniture at ;CBflfl.
