SATISFACTORY RETURNS. By Telegraph—Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The railway working account for the four weeks ended December 5 shows the following lgures (shillings andpence omitted):— Revenue.—Korth Island, 1914, $165,698; 1013, £157,736. South 'gland, £124,787, (£106,821). Totals, £290,486 and £264,557. Expenditure.—North Island, £122,862, (£131,955); South Island, £100,815 (£90,296). Totals, £223,678 and ' £228,251. Percentage of revenue expended on the working of lines was 78.48 as against 76.81 in the corresponding period of the previous year.
