A BUGBEAR TO LABOUR. i "A MENACE TO DEMOCRACY." f By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Received 14. 8 p.m. Sydney, January 14. The annual report of the Political Labour League points out that there has been a marked improvement iu the solidarity of the Labour vote in New South Wales. Regarding the Legislative Council, the report says that though its abolition has formed part of 4116 first plank of the, Labor platform since 1008, no piactica! steps have been taken to carry the reform with effect, and urges the need for imiv.'diately commencing th» fight on constitutional lines for the abolition of the Chamber, which is a perpetual menace to democracy and a buttress to all forms of privilege and monopoly.
