Hunter, M.P., and 1\ tti Davey, the Commission appointed by tift ■Government to make M'liceming the allocation of the extrg, racing permits granted during tko la« 8 session of Parliament, arrived in New, Piyanouih by the 1 express train lait night, to take evidence in support of the applications of the North Tarao&ki Hunt Club and the Waitara Kacing Club for permits. Mr Gray, of ths Hansard staff, accaffii panics tin: Com mission as secretary. Tha Commissioners were met by Mr. H. Okey, M.P., and members of tilwj Tsiranaki Jockey Club and of the HUttl Ciub. During' the evening a deputation was introduced fioiu, the Hunt Club in connection with its applioatiort. This morning, at 8.30, the Commission will inspect the Taranaki Jockey Club's course and appointments, atOT, motoring out t:. the Waitara Baeinjß Cub's course, where they will tot?", evw dence concerning the WjR.C. permit. A# eleven o'clock, at New Plymouth, formal evidence will be heard from the Hunt Club, which proposes to hold its 'hunt meeting on the T.J.C. course, aild Commission will probably leave for Ilawera by the 2.50 p.m. train.
