Lv; : . ■ DOMTXIOX TOURXAMEXT. Auckland, Last Nigbt. Xlic bowling visitors assembled in Auckland for the Dominion tournament were formally welcomed at the Remuera green yesterday by Mr. M. Casey, president of Hie Dominion Council. After ex- J pressing the determination of Auck, landers to reply to the, hospitality extended to the Northerners when in the South last year, Mr. Casey said that at one time he was doubtful in regard to the wisdom of amalgamating the Northern and Southern Associations, but now he was convinced it was the correct thing. The handsome champion banner, p- •- sented by the ladies of Dunedin, was unfurled, and the turns assembled accepted an invitation to have a "roll up." The tournament will commence at 9 a.m. to-morrow. In consequence of the lengthy spell of dry weather, the greens ' ire very keen. About forty bowlers from Northern Taranaki are taking part in the tournament. Some went up by the Rarawa on Thursday, and others on Saturday, while & few went by rail.
