At Johnsonvilie on Wednesday fair yardings of cattle and slieep came forward and sold at tlie following prices tra prime bullocks £1(1 7s (id, prnic heavy bullocks £l4 17s Cd, prime, bullocks £l3 10s, good, wethers 235, light ■wethers 21s 7d to 225, prime ewes 20s to 20s 3d, lighter 18s to lSs fid, plain ewes 17s Od to 17s 9d, prime lambs 10s 4d to Ids 10(1, others 13s to 15s. BURNSIDE. At Burnside, Wednesday, 240 fat cattle were yarded. "This was a large entry, but as butchers' supplies were cleared out and freezing buyers were operating prices ranged from part to 10s lower than last sale rates. Prime bullocks .made £l3 to £ls 10s, extra prime to ' ~£2O, medium to good £ll to £l2, unfinished £9 to £lO, prime cows and heifers £l2 10s to £l3 ss, extra to £l-1 12s Cd, medium £9 to £lO 10s, others •£6 to £B. . There was large yarding of fat sheep, 2957 being penned. The entry consisted •(principally of ewes, very few pens of ■good quality wethers being in. Prices for wethers and good ewes were quite •up to late rates, bub medium ewes show!cd a decline of Is per head. Freezing buyers secured several trucks. On Holiday, 4th Inst., for my monthly sale, at the Douglas yards, a full yarding with a good quality throughout. Prices throughout were right up to values ruling prior to the holidays, and in a few cases showing in advance. 1-5 month Jersey heifers, made :66 ss; yearling to 15-month Shorthorn heifers, £2 5s Oil to £2 10s; good 15-month steers, £3 12s; smaller, £2 13s (Id to £3 2s; •2 to a'/j-year .steers, £5 Is to £5 4s; 3-year steers, £7 ss; yearling to 15month hulls, £2 18s to £4; medium weight bulls, £7 ss; small coivs and calves, £4 !>s; fat heifers, £7 7s; fat cows, £7 7s to £8 3s; no heavy weights offering; forward cows, £G 2s to £7 Ss; good store opws, £5 Is to £5 17s; smaller cows, £3 15s to £4 lis; mixed 2-tooths, 14s 7d to 17s 7d. MATTHEWS, fiAMLTN &. COMPANY. Matthews, (lamlin and Co. report a small yarding in their Tnglewood yards last Wednesday, the attendance was small, and bidding was not brisk.
