A MYSTERIOUS COMPLAINT.
CONSTERNATION AT LIMESTONE JBLAfc'U , FORTY MEN SUFFERING. ; Whangarci, Last Night. ' A remarkable seizure of violent sickness has attacked the .men employed at Limestone Island. At ten o'clock, this, rooming some twenty men were dowtf suffering acute pains in the stomach and vomiting, and by 2.30 it was reported! that tfovty men Wl . re affected. The theory was set up that it -was English! cholera, but Dr Hall, who visited ■&<* island, does not think so. Though h$ cannot at present diagnose too conn plaint, he believes it to be some form of poisoning. Some of the men ate fish, but many of them had other food, v/hicb makes the affair all the more mysterious. The whole population of the island Is ia a state of perturbation. The matter iB being fully enquired into. 1
