INGLEWOOD METHODIST CHURCH.

QUARTERLY MEETING. The officials of the Methodist Circuit gathered on Wednesday, December 30th, when the following church officers for the year were elected:—Circuit stewards: Messrs J. Jemison and T. L. Parkin. Mr T. A. Taylor, one of the veterans of the church, asked to be relieved of his position as society steward. The meeting regretfully agreed to Mr Taylor's request, and a minute was passed in grateful recognition of long and strenuous service faithfully rendered. The following were elected Society stewards: Messrs E. Taylor, T. L. Parkin, B. Clougli, W. 11. Yeates, with L. Sutherland as envelope steward. The stewards at Tariki and Lincoln Road were re-elected, and Mr A. J. Reeve added to the list for Egmont Village. It was reported that £8 18s 5d had bed! raised during the quarter for mission work in New Zealand, and upwards of £2 forwarded to the North Island Methodist Orphanage situated in Auckland. A teachers' meeting was held on January sth. It was decided to hold the Sunday School anniversary concert on I'ebruary 3rd. The scholars will pro\ide a programme of music and recitations, etc., the prizes for the year will also be distributed. A collection will be taken up in aid of the Belgian Relief. Fund. The teachers hope that the efforts of the scholars for this deserving object will meet with a hearty and liberal response. It was reported that out of tho amount sent to the Methodist Orphanage the Jnglewood Sunday School had contributed £1 ICs fid; also by the efforts of the scholars £1 l;» s I,:ui been collected and handed to the trustees to be spent ill re-glazing the large front window of tlie church, as a memorial to tho late Mr Peach, who for upwards of thirty years was superintendent of the school!
