AN IMPORTANT ARREST. ENVER PASHA'S CHIEF SPY. ENDEAVORING TO SEDUCE THE SOLDIERS. Cairo, January 5. Alinay Abdullah, a Soudanese, anft Enver Pasha's chief spy, was arrested while endavouring to seduce Egyptian soldiers from their duty. He was found to be in possession of a Turkish cypher note-book, and a letter, instructing him to incite the army to rebellion. He was sentenced to death, and committed to penal servitude.

A correspondent at Cairo writes: "The Australians and New Zcalandcrs little thought tliafc they would take part in tlie Sultan's accession ceremonies, but tiiey clanked their spurs proudly. The city wore an honest holiday air."
