Sergeant McNeely. is leaving to take charge of the Ilawera Poliea District. • His place here is befoqj taken by Ser- " gcant Dale, of Newmarket, Auckland, t Last Sunday aftarnoon the Wanganui Garrison Band gave a sacred concert on the racecourse, when there was a large attendance of the public. Th® band submitted a fine programme, and was greatly appreciated. The proceeds were r in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund. (At Inglewood on Friday last Mr. W. B. Fearon, formerly secretary of the A. and P. Association here, and now manager of Mr. Newton King'i Ivaponga branch, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Liliam Hart, well 1 known as assistant teacher at the Strat--1 ford school. ' The local Scots are holding their annual Burns Gathering in the Town Hall on the 23rd inst., in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund. The Stratford Boy Scoute, under Scoutmaster Fletcher, are holding annual camp at Huinga, on Mr. Ewan Jackson's farm. The boys are greatly enjoying themselves. 5 Mr. Gordon Townsend, a well-known ► farmer at Lowgarth, died yesterday. J At Tuesday night's meeting of the 1 School Committee, "Mbr. FT. J. Thompson, ' 8.A.," of Winton, was chosen as second assistant at the Stratford District School. I
