' ANOTHER MARCH ON WARSAW. GERMAN REINFORCEMENTS FROM THE WEST. CONTRADICTORY REPORTS. Fetrograd, January 4. The (.iernians attempted to cross to the right bank of the Vistula on Saturday and were repulsed. Amsterdam, January 4. It is suggested that the 200,000 Germans who passed through Cologne eastward will reinforce General Ilindcnburg, preparatory to another great effort to batter through to Warsaw. London, January 4. Fetrograd reports that the Germans have withdrawn six army corps from the Warsaw front, it is supposed to guard against the Russian attack on the Lowicz-Thorn communications. Amsterdam, January 4. Joseph Roiel, editor of a newspaper, has been executed at Prossnitz (Austria) for a seditious speech.

' Official.—There was some unimportant work 011 the left bank of the Vistula, Some desperate fighting occurred on the 2nd and 3rd in tlic Bolimoff region, where the Germans lost six machine-;;Uim and a number of prisoners. Fresh progress is reported from West Galicia. A whole Austrian battalion surrendered at Fzokgass. In the :sn ma district a hostile column, with staff, was captured, together with military documents.

MAY BE PUSHED INTO ROUMANIA. Times and Sydney Sun Services. Received 5, 5.20 p.m. Petrograd, January 5. The Bourse Gazette says: "Our victorious advance in Bukovina will compel the Austrians to surrender or cross the Roumanian boundary. Meanwhile, ou? successes are influencing Roumanian sentiment.

The Daily Mail's Petrograd correspondent reports that one Russian army is pursufng the Austrians 011 the Hungarian side of the Carpathians, and another is approaching the frontier of Transylvania having almost subdued resistance in
Bukovina. The Russians' nearness to the Roumanian frontier is increasing the Roumanian eagerness to join them and seiza Transylvania.
