ALBANIAN REBELLION. THE POSITION SERIOUS. ITALIAN WARSHIP STANDS BY. Times and Sydney SUn Services. Received 5, 5.20 p.m. London, January 5. The Times' correspondent at Rome says the situation in 'Albania is daily growing more alarming. The rebels sent a message to Durazzo, announcing their intention to march on the capital, and the Government is preparing to defend the city. An Italian cruiser has been stationed at Durazzo to protect the Italians.
DURAZZO ATTACKED BY THE REBELS. A VIOLENT BATTLE. Received 5, 10 p.m. Rome, January 5. A telegram from Durazzo states that the insurgents on Sunday demanded that the French and Serbian Ministers should be handed over. Later they attacked the town. J&satl Pasha appealed to the Italian Ligation, and the warships Misurah and Sadegua silenced the insurgents. The Italian, French, and Serbian Legations embarked on the warships. The Giornale d' Italia reports that a '.•ioli-nt battle was fought at Tirana, between Kssad Pasha and the rebels.
