DISCOMFORT IN THE CAMPS. ITALIAN TRADERS IRRITATED. London, January 3. There were crowded intercession service* at the Protestant, Catholic and Bawian churches and chapels throughout Britain.
Heavy tains daily are causing great discomforts at the Salisbury Plain and other training camps.
ITALIAN TRADERS' COMPLAINTS. London, January 3. Hie Chronicle's Rome correspondent states that Italy's irritation at the Allies' restriction of Italian-hound commerce is rapidly growing. ffce Qfornale dltalia and Tribur.a complain of the excessivt zeal of warships in inflicting great losses on Italian traders, and demand that the Governmen insist on abuses being terminated.
THE INTERCESSORY SERVICES. THE GERM OF GREAT SERMONS. Received 5, 12.15 a an. London, January 4. The Primate preaching at the St. Paul's intereessionary service, said: "In this centenary of Waterloo, with the graves of Nelson, Wellington, and Roberta beneath us, our world-wide intercessory prayers are offered. On Canadian rivers, in Australian pastures, and on Indian plains, men and women are remembering the loyal men who have answered the Empire's call, atnd we Would be graceless if we failed to give thanks for the great rallying of our ovcrrt&s brethren." Archdeacon Wilberforce, at Westminfier Abbey, said, "We must do our utmost ' > avenge this outrageoue and premeui -i.ed crime against humanity by one man, England's arch enemy." Collections at all the churches were -devoted to the Red Cross fund.
