NEW MILITARY DECORATION. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. ' London, January 2. f T ; he Royal Victorian Order of the CSrandi 'Oosa has Ibccn cortferred on Prince Louis of Battenburg. Companions of the Bath are Captain Giant and Commander Ban- of the Carmania. Distinguished Service Order, Com-panions.—Squadron-Commander Brigg.s, Might-Lieutenant Sippe. The King lias established a Military Cross (silver) in recognition of officers' distinguished services. Only captains and inferior officers, also warrant officers and the Imperial, Indian and Colonial forces are eligible. The decoration ranks next to the Victoria Cross. 'file 'recipients include Lieutenant E. L. Couran. Lieut-Commander Coleman, the Sydney's engineer, has been promoted "to Commander. 1 All the crew of the Submarine 811 have received distinguished medals. The King has created seven French Generals Knights Commander of St. Michael and St. George. Mr Henry Ncwbolt, the (poet, and Mr Tronic Dyson, Astronomer-Royal, have been knighted. The New Year honours' list includes: —Knights of Garter, Lords Derby and Chesterfield. Marquisette Lord Aberdeen has been made a Marquis; Lord St. Aldwyn an Earl. Mr Arthur Henderson, M.P., and Sir William MadOegor have been made Privy Councillors. Mr Ilamar Greenwood, M.P., has been made a Baronet. Captain Glossop, of the warship Sydney, lias been made a C.B.
