Penn, who has been on a .visit to Wellington, has returned. Mrs. Collis is the guest of her mother. Mrs. Devore, Parnell, Auckland. Mrs. Arthur Hempton, who has been on a visit to New Plymouth, mainly to attend her sister's (Miss Carrie Bayly) wedding, returned to Auckland last night. Miss Roy has returned from her trip to Oamaru and Wellington. Miss Tidy is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Butler, cf Wellington. Miss Grosse, Wellington, is visiting Mrs. R. Bayley. Mrs. Rae Drunnno::,] is the guest of her mother, Mrs. Walter Bayly. Mrs. and Miss Bewley have returned from Wellington. Miss Brewster left last week to attend the New Zealand tennis tourna- [ ment, held at Dunedin. Mrs. Napier McLe.-n and a party of ladies from Wellington are paying a visit to Mrs. Napier Mac Lean's brothers, Charles and Stanley Butt, at their sta- , tion, near Uruti. WEDDING. MILLAR-BOY. At St. Mary's Church, New Plymouth, yesterday, Miss Gladys Rov, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Rov, was married to Mr. 0. S. Millar, third son of Mr. Robert Millar, The Bushes, Paisley, Scotland. The ceremony was performed by the Vicar, the Rev. A. IT. Colvile, and Mr. Murrcll presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very sweet in a beautiful gown of ivory satin cliarmouse, the bodice composed entirely of lovely lace, folded and caught at the. waist with a jewelled ornament and cluster of orange blossoms. The transparent niedici collar was also of lace. The skirt was given a wide effect at the hips, with a deep swathed sash and panniers, and fell narrow at the hem. The long square court train, lined with ninon, hung from the right shoulder, and was caught near the waist with a knot of ninon. The veil was worn cap-fashion, with a wreath of orange blossoms, and the bride carried a sheaf of lilies (arranged by Miss J. Curtis), and wore a string of pearls and a gold wristlet watch, the gift of the bridegroom. She was attended by Miss Doris Roy, her sister, who wore a beautiful gown of maize satin charmeuse, the draped overskirt caught up at the hack to show narrow frills of satin and lace, the panniers and deep sash draped so as a htoge butterfly effect at the _ : MjL The .niagyar blouse hacka-deep

pointed collar of fine lace at the back, and a vest and tiny frills of lace in front. She. wore a mob cap of tulle aiitl ■ lace, with a satin crown and wreath of rosebuds, and she carried a bouquet of purplo cinnerarias, larkspurs, maidenhair and asparagus fern, and wore the bridegroom's gift, a small gold signet ring. The best man was Mr Walter Weston. Mrs. Roy, mother of the bride, wore a gown of violet silk crepe, with long overskirt; the Russian blouse had a collar of Oriental trimming, the stoles which finished the. coat being trimmed with the same. Her hat was of black, with a lancer plume, and a white brocaded' crown wreathed with purple pansies. She carried a bouquet of pale pink sweet peas, maidenhair and asparagus fern. Miss Roy woro a flounced white voile, with a tiny blue sprig and vest, and frills of lace and sash of Hue silk. Her tagel hat was lined with blue, and trimmed with pink roses and a knot of the same blue. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, pink carnations, and maidenhair fern. ■Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Millar left by motor for the south, the bride wearing a coat and skirt q'f silver grey cloth, with crepe de chene blouse, and a black hat with tiny pink rosebuds and a white ostrich feather round the crown, and turned up sharply at the back to show a knot of black velvet and pink moss roses.
