News has bW received in Woodville of the death of the Rev. S. Bowie, minister of the Woodville Methodist Church from 1904 to. 1907, which occurred at Mitchani, Victoria, lust Saturday week. Mr. Bowie was a Victorian by birth, and came to New Zealand in the early nineties. He was stationed successively in the Canterbury Hills, Stratford, PaeroftV Waipawa, Woodville, Stratford again, Intdewoml, and Northern Wairoa. Mr M. Fraser, who has booked a passage to Bombay to visit his son there, and proposed also to go to 'Egypt to visit the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, has received word that his sonhas been obliged to take extended leave on account of sickness, and is cominghome to New Zealand. Hence, Mr. Fraser's trip is off, and he regrets that he will be unable to undertake variouslittle commissions to take parcels to Egypt., The interment of the remains of thelate Mr. George Tabor takes place at Wellington this morning, at 10 o'clock. The sudden demise of this progressive, promising, and popular young citizen formed one of the prinoipal topics of conversation in business circles yesterday, and many tributes were paid to his-' whole-hearted work for the advanca- ~-,,,
